There are different research processes often undertaken to effective or relevant outcomes. Researcher are always required to identify data collection approaches that best suits the study outcomes. An observation study is a qualitative data collection method that is mainly used when observing naturally occurring behaviors of people within their environment.
Through the observation studies, data can be collected of gathered in form of films, still camera, film or video, audio tapes, as well as the handwritten notes taking (Silverman, 2019). While defining studies that are to be performed, there is the need to consider data collection processes or the methodologies to be applied in the entire research process.
One of the observational study I would like to perform is the determination of the effects of eating strictly organic foods on the overall health. To ensure success in the research process, I will randomly identify 200 respondents, where 100 of these respondents will have eaten organic foods for the last three years. The success of the study will also depend on the types of data collection and the methodologies that have been applied.
The observation process will involve overall assessment; the data will be analyzed and applied in drawing conclusion on how consuming organic foods can impact of improve an individual’s overall health. In other words, the study will involve general observation of the people/individuals involved in the study process (Cochran & Rubin, 2017).
The observational study is to be conducted in the healthcare settings where there are numerous number of patient’s visit. The setting will be ideal because random sampling processes will be easier. The subjects or participants will involve patients seeking for the medical services. What will be observed include general health and well-being as well as the individual’s health and well-being.
